Abrahem Ibn Adaham

Abrahem Ibn Adaham once passed by the local market in his village and all the people knowing his piousness and his wisdom flocked around him asking " why doesn't God- when we supplicate - answer and fulfill our supplication ?"
He answered saying " Because your hearts have died ." , then they asked what deadened them .
He said : Ten sins made them dead , these are :
1- you have known God rights but you do not give Him His rights
2- you are reciting the Holy Quran but you don't adhere to its percepts
3- you are claiming the love of the prophet but you do not follow his sunna
4- you have said the paradise is true but you do not do righteous things to enter it.
5- you have said the hellfire is true but you do not do things to escape it.
6- you know the path of the right and truth but you reject it.
7- you have known the invalid wicked way but you still fallow.
8- you have confessed that the devil is your enemy though you don't take him as an enemy and moreover you still obey him.
9- you have buried many of your dead relatives but yet you haven't learnt the lesson yet (that all people will die)
10- you eat God's sustenance and you don't give the due thanks and you have occupied yourselves with people's flaws but forget yours .
